Travel has always been a passion of mine. It all started when I was just 2 weeks old, and my father packed the family up for a road trip from Pennsylvania to Canada. These were the days of station wagons, picnic baskets for stopping beside the road with and using a tent instead of a hotel.

Needless to say, I have no memories of that first adventure though it has followed me all through my life. While my parents were still living, they'd always comment that it was that first trip that set off my traveling fever. This was fueled with books like the encyclopedia collection we had that was my childhood television and magazines like Yankee, Arizona Highways, Wild West, National Geographic, and various ones about Alaska.

My parents finally got to Alaska after their six children were all grown. They went on their own, flew on a wild fight packed with professional wrestlers who were drinking, misbehaving and causing a ruckus on the plane. This was in the days before social media or I'm sure some of the things they would tell us about the flight would have ended up as viral videos. Anyway, they flew into Alaska, rented a car and just did a week of driving around. My father got to go fishing once, but he didn't get to eat what he caught, so I'm not sure how much he enjoyed it.

As for my own adventures, I've had a passport since I was 14 and have been lucky enough to visit over 30 countries and 48 states. The only states I'm missing is Alaska and Hawaii.
Morton has traveled his whole life too and we both share the desire to discover Alaska together.

When I first started planning the trip I was thinking we would drive. Planning out the route, I realized time equals money and decided it was better if we just flew. Searching flights, I found a great bargain into Seattle and then another cheap flight to Vancouver BC where we will get on a heck of deal on our first cruise together. The trip is going to be shared on our social media and I'm going to try to keep a daily diary here, with no promises.

The whole adventure will have an organic feel to it with lots of time to stop and smell the roses. I know it will be incredible and I'm so happy to share it with you!

Happy trails and keep adventuring!
Priscilla
